Challenge

Lockworks is the latest addition to the Toolstation and Travis Perkins portfolio, one of our bespoke ‘brands from scratch’ created to unlock the full potential of an underserved category.

Tasked with developing a new identity for Toolstation’s ironmongery range, we set out to create a brand that would inspire trust, instil confidence, and convey reliability. Essential attributes for products focused on window and door security. But this wasn’t just about visual identity. The brand also needed to work hard in-store at Travis Perkins, with sustainable, practical packaging that clearly communicated product details.

Solution

The result is Lockworks: a bold, no-nonsense brand identity. With strong typography and a distinctive colour palette, vibrant blue and orange creates standout across both on shelf, catalogue and online. Confidently signalling the brand’s purpose. The packaging breaks new ground in the category, combining recyclable, clearly labelled bags and cartons with clean, rendered visuals and precise technical drawings.
